Booker Institute of Cosmetology offers a skin care program that is designed for students who wish to work solely with skin and its care. Esthetician students are required to complete 400 hours of instruction in sanitation, cosmetology law, anatomy, techniques in facial and skin care, use and safety of mechanical and electrical equipment, make-up application, temporary removal of hair, and applied chemistry. Students are required to receive a minimum score of 85% on all pre-state examinations, complete all assigned projects, meet instructor objectives on practical skills, and meet all financial obligations to the Institute. A Diploma of Completion will be awarded once a student has met all of the above requirements. The course can be completed in approximately five to six months.

Booker Institute of Cosmetology - Hudsonville offers the Esthetician Course on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. For the first 100 hours the class meets on Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.; Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.; and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. There after, students are required to continue to attend on Wednesday and Thursday as well as alternate Friday and Saturday hours. Saturday hours are 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Booker Institute of Cosmetology - Muskegon offers the Esthetician course on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The class meets Thursday, 12:30 until 4:30 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

At all locations additional hours are available for students who have accumulated over 300 theory and practical hours and who have achieved an appropriate skill level.
